Opportunities are typically available on the Economic Development Commission, Parks and Natural Resources Commission and Planning Commission. The Council also seeks applications from high school juniors and sophomores who are interested in serving on the Parks and Natural Resources Commission.
All terms begin on July 1 each year, and are open to Burnsville residents ages 18 and older (except for Youth Representatives on PNRC). Some memberships are open to people who have a business or own property located in the City. The City Council conducts interviews in May.
