Night to Unite (known as National Night Out in some communities) is held on the first Tuesday in August. However, this year it has been postponed until Oct. 6.
This event is a chance to strengthen neighborhood spirit and City-community partnerships. It can also heighten awareness around crime, drug and violence prevention; generate support for, and participation in local anti crime programs; and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Night to Unite will look different this year but there are still ways to connect with your City and neighbors! The City will be offering community bags for neighborhoods in Burnsville. These bags are available for anyone in the community and will consist of City handouts & information, sidewalk chalk, playing cards and other items. Simply fill out a form to register your neighborhood and City staff will drop off community bags to your door at the beginning of October. Neighborhood organizers can then deliver the packages door to door or leave them in the front yard for neighbors to pick up.
The number of community bags available are limited and will be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please only request one bag per household in your neighborhood.
Orders placed after Wednesday, Sept 30 may have to be picked up at City Hall.
