Walk to School Day 2009

What is Walk to School Day? 

Walk to School Day gives children, parents, school teachers and community leaders an opportunity to be part of a global event as they celebrate the many benefits of walking. 

Approximately 700 Echo Park Elementary students, teachers and parents joined the Burnsville Police Department as part of the Blue in the School program, and City Staff for this year's walk.

The school has worked collaboratively to improve student health with the City of Burnsville and the National Center for Media and the Family with the SWITCH Program. The Walk to School Day is a way to promote walking and physical activity for students and promote student safety on the roadways.
