Please Note (updated Dec. 18): Warm temperatures and lack of snow will delay the opening of Burnsville's outdoor ice rinks and warming houses. Burnsville’s maintenance staff hope to have rinks and warming houses open toward the end of December (weather permitting). Please check back for more information.
Burnsville has 13 park locations that offer outdoor skating. Warming houses are located at 12 sites (West Buck Hill offers a pleasure rink only).
Rinks are open for skating during regular park hours (5 a.m. to 10 p.m.), but the rink lights are on, warming houses are open and the facilities are supervised by City staff (with the exception of the rink at West Buck Hill) ONLY during specified hours. (See below.)
No hockey or broomball games are allowed unless specified. Wednesday nights are designated as "Open Hockey" nights and rinks may not be reserved for hockey practices.
During heavy snow, rinks are maintained according to their classifications. Please note, on a weekend with a snow event, the staffed outdoor skating rinks will close after one inch or more of snow has accumulated. Warming houses will close when temperatures and/or wind chill reach negative 19 degrees or colder.
2014-2015 Outdoor Skating Season
