Family-Friendly Summer Concerts, Movies & Festivals

Family enjoying a summer eventSummer in Burnsville is full of programs and events that are fun for everyone. 

Friday Night Flicks on the Bricks
Grab a blanket or chairs and some popcorn -- and come prepared to relax and enjoy a movie in the park.
   Dates: June 10, June 24, July 8, July 22,
Aug. 12 & Aug. 26
   Time: Seating begins at 7:30 p.m.
Show begins at dusk

Thursday Rockin' Lunch Hour
These mid-day mini-concerts are geared for preschool-aged audiences, but are fun for anyone looking for a rockin' good time. Bring your lunch to the park early to hear ISD 191's elementary school principals read books aloud.
   Dates: Thursdays, June 16 - Aug. 18 (no show July 7)
   Time: Readers: 11:15 a.m.
Concerts: Noon
   Where: Nicollet Commons Park, 12550 Nicollet Ave.

Wednesday in the Park Concerts
Wednesday night concerts are sponsored by ISD 191 Community Education and the City of Burnsville. Bring a non-perishable food item in exchange for a soft drink, or purchase popcorn from the Burnsville Senior Center for $1.
   Dates: Wednesdays, June 29 - Aug. 3
   Time: 7 p.m.
   Where: Civic Center Park, 75 Civic Center Parkway
(rain location at Diamondhead Education Center)

New Spaces Heart of the City Music Festival
Weekly free concerts sponsored by New Spaces and King and Companies.
   Dates: Sundays, July 3 - Aug. 7
   Time: 7 - 8:30 p.m.
   Where: Nicollet Commons Park, 12550 Nicollet Ave.

International Festival of Burnsville
Food, music and cultural displays exhibit Burnsville's diverse population and traditions during this exciting event.
   Date: Saturday, July 16
   Time: 3 - 9 p.m.
   Where: Nicollet Commons Park, 12550 Nicollet Ave.

Burnsville Fire Muster Celebration
The annual Fire Muster festivities include music, entertainment, fireworks, carnival rides, kids activities, demonstrations, food and the community and fire truck parade.
   Dates: September 7 - 11
   Where: Multiple locations
