What We Do
Burnsville’s Parks Department is responsible for maintaining parks and boulevards.

Burnsville Parks System
The Burnsville Park System contains approximately 1,750 acres spread throughout 76 parks. Approximately one-third of the parkland is developed for active uses. The other two-thirds are preserved as natural areas, some accessed by trails.

Winter Notice: Park, Rink and Trail Maintenance
Parks and Recreation staff will work to keep outdoor skating rinks, parks and ski trails
open throughout the winter season. During snow events, maintenance schedules are
as follows:

A Sites - Maintained on Day 1 after a snow event:
North River Hills, Neill, Northview, Paha Sapa, trails
groomed at Terrace Oaks, Alimagnet and the Dog Park,
plowing of internal park paths.

B sites - Maintained on Day 2 after a snow event:
Red Oak, South River Hills, Terrace Oaks East, Civic Center,
Timberland, Vista View.

C sites - Maintained when possible
Highland Forest, Knob Hill, West Buck Hill pleasure rink
