A public open house meeting was held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 9, 2010, at the Burnsville City Hall in the Large Community Room. The meeting focused on the publication of the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) and the environmental impacts of the proposed project. Written comments on the EAW can also be submitted by mail following the meeting.

All comments must be received by Wednesday, March 24, 2010, and should be directed to Rick Dalton, Mn/DOT Waters Edge Building, 1500 West County Road B2, Roseville, MN 55113. The published EAW is available for viewing on the Mn/DOT project website and at Burnsville City Hall. 

New Transportation Choices Coming to Burnsville Area

MnPASS Express Lanes and transit options offer improved commutes
Burnsville residents will soon have more transportation choices, improved traffic flow and reduced congestion and commute times along I-35W, Highway 77/Cedar Avenue and in downtown Minneapolis. As a series of construction projects draw to a close, commuters will soon use new transportation and transit amenities on one of the busiest roads in Minnesota.

Noise Advisory Committee
The Noise Advisory Committee (NAC), consisting of community representatives and project staff, provides two-way communication between the community and the project team regarding traffic noise during the design phase of the project. The NAC will also provide feedback to the City Council and communicate project information to neighborhood residents. 

Three NAC meetings have been held to date. NAC members are currently reviewing preliminary noise modeling and noise mitigation analysis results.  Please visit the Mn/DOT project website to view meeting materials.
