Slow Down for Neighborhood Safety
Slowdown for Neighborhood Safety
When a recent community survey indicated that speeding and safety on roadways was a major concern of residents, the Burnsville City Council responded by identifying traffic safety as a goal and authorizing the creation of a comprehensive effort involving improved engineering, education and enforcement efforts. Burnsville’s efforts to get motorists to “slow down and keep to the limit” are enforced through a four-officer Traffic Unit to coordinate enforcement and education activities. While Burnsville Police neighborhood officers continue to (and always will) enforce traffic laws, the specialized Traffic Unit is focused specifically on traffic and pedestrian safety issues.
