Donations Light Up the Heart of the City over the Holidays

Check DonationOver 300 contributors – including businesses and individual donors – contributed a total of $37,000 to fund the Heart of the City Holiday Lighting Program. Community Volunteer Ed Delmoro coordinates the program on behalf of the Burnsville Community Foundation. Delmoro has spearheaded the fundraising effort on behalf of the Foundation, an effort which has raised over $300,000 for the Heart of the City since its inception nine years ago.
Mayor Elizabeth Kautz accepted the donation from Ed Delmoro at a City Council Meeting in March.

Performing Arts Center Executive Director Named

Wolf Larson will be the first Executive Director of the new Burnsville Performing Arts Center, having served most recently as the Assistant General Manager for the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, Calif., since 2002. Larson’s prior experience includes 15 years with JAM Productions in Chicago, serving in the theatrical and concert divisions. He also has experience working with the Chicago Ballet, the Practical Theatre Company of Evanston, Ill., and the national touring company for Second City of Chicago.

Larson was responsible for budget preparation and implementation, maintaining client relations and event booking at the Flint Center. “I believe this experience has prepared me to assume a leadership role at a venue such as the Burnsville Performing Arts Center,’’ Larson said.

Larson will be employed by VenuWorks which has a five year contract with the City to manage the Performing Arts Center. VenuWorks (formerly Compass Facility Management) is a leading provider of full management services for arenas, theaters, and convention centers, which are primarily under the governance of municipalities, counties, colleges, and universities. VenuWorks is the third largest facilities management company in the United States, serving 26 facilities in 15 communities throughout the US.
