What We Do
In the Spring of 2013, Burnsville Property Maintenance Inspectors began a new program that takes a proactive approach to property maintenance issues in the city. Inspectors periodically canvass neighborhoods to help identify code violations that can prove to be unsafe, unsanitary or detrimental to the neighborhood. It is then the goal the City to work with residents to bring any property maintenance issues into compliance with code.
Submit a property maintenance complaint or request.
Schedule of Proactive Inspections
The maps below outline when inspection staff will be visiting certain areas of the City. All businesses, residential and rental properties are looked at over a three-year period. However, if an inspector notices a code violation or receives a complaint about a property, that address may be investigated at any time, even if that neighborhood is not currently scheduled to be visited.
Most inspections are done from the street, with inspectors driving through and viewing neighborhoods as they make their way around the City. Inspection staff WILL NOT be walking through backyards, looking over fences, looking into homes or taking any other action that violates a resident's privacy.
