Breeding Bird Surveys
This is a volunteer bird survey intended to document bird species that are breeding within the various City parks. Volunteers listen, watch, and record observed bird species in specific areas. Moderate levels of experience with bird identificiation, especially by sound, are required to volunteer.

Volunteers should be prepared to commit two approximately 1-hour sampling periods, at least one week apart during mid-May through early June during.  Sampling is done during early morning hours.  Volunteers will be assigned a specified survey route in which the volunteer will walk, listen, and record the birds seen and heard. The volunteer will work on his or her own time and pace and report back to the Natural Resources Department when finished.
