Outdoor Skating and Warming Houses
Please Note: Rinks are closed for the 2018 season.

Extended Skating Season Begins Feb. 20, 2018
All skating sites will be open through Monday, Feb. 19 (weather permitting). Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 20 only six sites will remain open for an extended season. Those sites will remain open as long as the weather and ice conditions will allow.

  • Paha Sapa Park 
  • Timberland Park
  • Terrace Oaks East

Regular Skating Season
Weather permitting, Burnsville's outdoor ice rinks and warming houses are open from mid-December through mid-February. Burnsville has 13 park locations that offer outdoor skating. Warming houses are located at 12 sites (West Buck Hill offers a pleasure rink only).

Rink and Warming House Hours
Rinks are open for skating (weather permitting) during regular park hours (5 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Rink lights are on, warming houses are open and the facilities are supervised by City staff ONLY during specified hours (See below).

Rink Snow Removal and Warming House Closures
During heavy snow, rinks are maintained according to their classifications. Please note, on a weekend with a snow event, the staffed outdoor skating rinks will close after one inch or more of snow has accumulated. Warming houses will close when temperatures and/or wind chill reach negative 19 degrees or colder.

Rink Rules

  • No hockey or broomball games are allowed unless specified.
  • Wednesday nights are designated as "Open Hockey" nights and rinks may not be reserved for hockey practices.
