2000 Master Plan - Trails
Burnsville Trails Master Plan
The City of Burnsville completed a Trail Master Plan in 2000. It completed an implementation planning process in 2002 that established the top four priorities for funding as being:

The Northeast Connection
Connecting through the North River Hills Neighborhood to Eagan, the Cedar Avenue pedestrian bridge and the Minnesota Valley trail system.

The Burnsville Loop
A trail system along Burnsville Parkway, Southcross and County Road 11 accessing the large majority of parks and public destinations in Burnsville.

The Tennisioux and Black Dog Park Trail
A recreational trail through these two parks.

Black Dog Road
Feasibility Study for a trail along Black Dog Road

Development Standard
It is anticipated that the development standard for these trails would be separate ten-foot wide bituminous surfaces.

Trail Funding
Funding for these improvements will be addressed in the City's future capital improvements programs.

The need to improve maintenance and public information about the City's trail was also identified and will be included in future budgeting deliberations.
