Water Service Line Coverage Solicitations
Burnsville residents may have received a letter from one of several companies selling “water service line protection.” The most recent mailings have come from HomeServe and American Water Resources. The City has received notification that the companies again intend to mail solicitations to residents promoting their service. As in the past, the City of Burnsville has not partnered with any other private water service maintenance providers.
If you are considering purchasing this type of coverage, the City strongly advises you to thoroughly research the need to do so, and the background and track record of any company that offers this type of coverage in order to make an informed decision.
Home Water Testing Solicitations
In addition, residents have been contacted by companies implying they have been hired by the City of Burnsville to do water testing in their home. The City of Burnsville DOES NOT work with OR endorse home water treatment companies.
An article from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Waterline newsletter. MDH offers great advice in reporting these companies and also offers suggestions for residents when they are contemplating the purchase of a home water treatment system. [
