September 6, 2017
Special assessments for the project were approved by the City Council at their meeting on September 5, 2017.  Assessment costs and payment information is available in the letters sent on August 18, 2017.  Property owners wishing to pay their special assessments in-full for the street work are reminded that payment is due no later than Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  Credit card payments are not accepted for special assessments.  Questions regarding assessment payoff amounts or deferrals may be directed to Molly Stone at 952-895-4495, or .  

Older Updates

August 25, 2017
Placing of the first layer of asphalt is complete.  The Contractor is currently raising manholes in preparation for placing of the final layer of asphalt.  The Contractor will be doing boulevard restoration and seeding early in the week of 8/28/17.  The Contractor is tentatively scheduled to place the final layer of asphalt middle to late in the week of 8/28/17. 

August 2, 2017
Curb removals are scheduled for the week of 8/7/17.  Curb replacements are scheduled for the week of 8/14/17.  Street reclamation is scheduled for late in the week of 8/14/17.  Grading and placement of the first layer of asphalt will take place after the street reclamation.  The project will be substantially completed by 8/25/17.

July 13, 2017

The Contractor is tentatively scheduled to start work in this area towards the end of July.  The Contractor is required to have the area substantially completed by 8/25/17.

April 19, 2017
The City has awarded a contract to McNamara Contracting, Inc. for the street improvements in the Crosstown Estates 2nd Addition neighborhood as a part of the City’s 2017 Street Reclamation Project.


A neighborhood meeting is being held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 3:30 to 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at Burnsville City Hall for property owners interested in learning more about this project. A formal letter explaining the project and providing notification of the neighborhood meeting was recently mailed to property owners.

City staff completed a preconstruction meeting with representatives from McNamara Contracting, Inc. and private utility companies. At this meeting, the project schedule was discussed. McNamara Contracting tentatively plans to start work in the Portland Avenue cul de sac around Monday, July 9th. Work within the Portland Avenue cul de sac expected to be complete by the end of July. Construction activities are very weather dependent so the Contractor’s schedule may change due to weather.

A neighborhood meeting is being held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 3:30 to 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at Burnsville City Hall for property owners interested in learning more about this project.
