New Updates

August 23, 2016

The project is generally completed except for completing the turf restoration and the energizing of the street lights.  Thanks for your patience during the construction of the project and during the final remaining items.

July 29, 2016

The contractor completed paving over the entire project area except at the railroad crossing.  We expect the rail crossing area to be milled and paved in the next couple of weeks.  Striping of the pavement and street light installation is expected in the next couple of weeks. Thank you for patience during the milling and paving operation.  The project is nearing completion.

July 22, 2016

The contractor completed pavement patching on the project this past week and will be complete milling of the pavement surface by the end of the week.  This will likely require work on Saturday, July 23.  The contractor plans on completing the paving of the roadway on Monday next week.  The roadway may be in a single lane condition with flaggers for most of the day Monday to complete this paving work.  Please have patience and drive safely during this work.  The project is nearing completion.

July 8, 2016

Pavement replacement work is still planned on commencing early next week.  The Contractor will be replacing a 300' section of pavement on the curve on Dupont and work on grading the turn lane extension on Cliff Road next week and completing the milling and paving of the roadway the following week.  The contractor will have flaggers on certain parts of the project as they may need to close traffic in one lane at different times.  Please slow down and drive safely for everyone's safety.

June 30, 2016

The contractor plans on completing most of the concrete work by the end of the week and then working on the eastbound turn lane on Cliff Road next week.  The pavement rehabilitation work on Dupont Ave and 126th Street is planned on commencing on the week of July 11th.  That work should move quickly and be completed within a couple of weeks after starting.  Street lighting work will continue through the next few weeks as well.

June 17, 2016

The Contractor is almost complete with the underground sanitary sewer rehabilitation part of the project. They are scheduled to be working in the intersection of DuPont Avenue and Cliff Road the rest of the day today and on Saturday. Traffic will be down to one lane with flaggers during this time at this location.

Curb and gutter removals have begun as well on DuPont Avenue and 126th Street. The contractor expects to continue with curb and gutter work and driveway apron work, as necessary, next week.  Street lighting work is also ongoing at this time.  Milling and paving of the roadways are expected to occur in late June or early July.

May 4, 2016

The City awarded a contract to Geislinger and Sons for the roadway and utility improvements on Dupont Ave, 126th Street and Cliff Road.  Geislinger plans on beginning utility work on Dupont Avenue the week of May 16.  This will involve protected, localized excavations that will be used for sanitary sewer rehabilitation.  Your business will be contacted in advance if there will be any sewer service interruption for these improvements.  The roadways will stay open in the areas of the excavations, but traffic will need to use caution and slow down in those areas for the safety of the general public and for the construction workers.  Street improvements are not expected to begin until June.
