Neighborhood Volunteering

  • Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
    • Work together in their neighborhoods to provide basic safety tasks until first responders arrive
    • Participants are trained in disaster preparedness, firefighting, basic medical operations, light search and rescue

  • Mobile Volunteer Network (MVN)
    • Assist public safety personnel with special events, disaster response and emergencies throughout the city
    • MVN volunteers have the opportunity to participate in ongoing training in specialized areas

  • Neighborhood Watch
    • Work together to prevent crime in neighborhoods
    • Report suspicious activity to local police
    • Plan for disaster preparedness
