Main City Calendar

  1. Wednesday in the Park Concert

    August 5, 7:00 PM @ Civic Center Park

    The Wednesday in the Park Concert Series sponsored by Burnsville, Eagan, Savage - Independent School 191 Community Education Department and the City of Burnsville provides musical entertainment for your listening pleasure. Concerts are planned for outdoors at the Civic Center Park Amphitheater pending good weather. If the weather is undesirable, the concerts will be held at Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Parkway.

  2. Thursday Rockin' Lunch Hour

    August 6, 11:15 AM - 1:00 PM @ Nicollet Commons Park

    Noon performances at Nicollet Commons Park are back! These performances will run throughout the summer and are geared toward preschool-aged audiences. Grab the kids and come down to the park for a rockin’ good time! Prior to Rockin’ Lunch Hour Concerts, elementary principals from Independent School District 191 will read some great books to kids.   7. Buckthorn Disposal Weekend

    August 29, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ The City's compost facility is next to the City archery range (12151 Pleasant Avenue, near the junction of I-35W and Cliff Road).

    To help dedicated residents in their quest to remove and dispose of buckthorn, the City will open its private compost site during the last weekend of every month through September - and every weekend in October. The site will be open for Burnsville residents for buckthorn brush ONLY.

Activities will include a tractor hay ride, entertainment, family games and a picnic complete with roasted corn. The “Friends of The Farm” will offer walking tours of the farm and farmhouse while sharing education and cultural perspectives that appeal to a wide range of interests and ages. Sponsored by the South of the River Recreators (S.O.R.R.). Registration deadline is Monday, Aug. 10.

    Dakota Valley Recycling, the City of Burnsville and the City of Eagan have partnered to present an array of eco-friendly programs. Attendees will learn about “green cleaning,” decluttering, water resources and more. Participants can also take part in bird watching, nature walks and s’mores-making in the beautiful Dakota County Regional Park of Lebanon Hills. Lunch and snacks are included.
